Online Casinos That Allow NJ Players

The State of New Jersey officially introduced its visitors and residents to a new era of gaming on November 26th, 2013 with the birth of online casino games that residents could play + win real cash from their computers and smart devices. Of the twelve land-based casinos in the state, only six (Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Tropicana Casino & Resort, Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino, Trump Taj Mahal Casino & Resort, Bally's Atlantic City, Caesars Atlantic City) were a part of the opening day lineup of legal New Jersey online casinos allowed to offer as many as 240 casino games. More of both will eventually be added but there still remains another segment of this market that is overlooked... the offshore casinos which have always been friendly to the New Jersey gambler.

Since the Internet became popular, there has almost always been Internet casinos that would let New Jersey residents join + play online casino games for free or for money. Unfortunately, these websites got a bad reputation because they were not officially sanctioned by the state or federal government. Of course, some of these casino websites were not to be trusted which left gamblers not knowing who to trust. Fast forward 15 years and knowing who can be trusted is now an easy proposition because any website in operation since the late 90's + early 2000's is bound to be reputable as cheating the players (who should naturally be skeptical at first) would be a death sentence. Any resident or visitor of New Jersey on Atlantic-City-Online-Casinos.com can trust that the online casinos shown here are trustworthy. In fact, some of these online casinos have been online for almost 20 years which has really given them the time to perfect their craft... how do you think the regulated online casinos figured out how to make their product so attractive?!?!?

But, why should New Jersey residents go offshore instead of the newly minted online offerings? This question demands to be answered and we would like to start by saying that it used to be enough to simply allow NJ residents to play. Well, that is obviously not going to get it done anymore because honestly, some of the land-based online casinos have a better game selection than their offshore counterparts. This isn't always true but consider the fact that offshore casino gambling websites do not report back to any authority. This means that the government will not have record of any winnings or jackpots won when playing on the web. Depending on how much one plays + wins, this bonus can be worth thousands of dollars or more with some less than creative accounting. And while we are on the subject of bonuses, offshore websites are more likely to extend bonus promotions which can multiply the amount of the user's first deposit exponentially.

Ready to see what's available? Of course, but please do take a few moments to read the short reviews of the recommended websites. The info was acquired first hand, playing for real money and will reveal the subtle differences that separate one online casino from another. This also goes for any of the other reviews of the other websites we've listed for the other forms of NJ online gaming.

Recommended Online Casino For Blackjack - Lucky Red Casino

If in the market to play 21, Lucky Red is definitely one of the online casino websites that New Jersey residents should consider. With six different types of 21 games, this online casino is bound to have a variety that suits how the player wants to gamble. Blackjack rules are fairly standard with 3 to 2 payouts on Blackjack, dealer hits on a soft-17, insurance pays 2-to-1, split aces get one card + the player can double down on any two cards. The minimum wager for Blackjack is very reasonable at $1 but is also flexible with the maximum wager capped at $100 + up to three hands at a time versus the dealer so the potential to risk as much as $600 during one round of play is a possibility... Veteran craps players can appreciate Club World for its software which provides smooth graphics and an easy interface for placing the numerous wagers available on a traditional craps table. Rookies can also find great value here because they will actually be able to learn how this game works and play online craps for free while they learn how the game works. Poker Websites That Allow NJ Residents

Another type of gaming that became available during the initial legalization of online gambling in New Jersey was poker, and in particular, Texas Hold'em. This really isn't much of a surprise considering that poker is perhaps the segment of the industry that has the most to do with player skill determining the winner rather than chance. The only real issue with allowing regulated poker sites to operate was that they needed to be fair for everyone at the table.

The following poker websites are currently accepting all players from New Jersey that are at least 18 years old. These websites are trusted, and like the casinos we recommended above, these websites do not report back to the state as where the NJ regulated online poker rooms will. In some cases, these poker websites have better tourneys with bigger guarantees, and more traffic in their ring games than their regulated counterparts.

Best New Jersey Poker Site For Texas Hold'Em, Omaha + More!!!

Sports Gambling For New Jersey Residents

Even though the State of New Jersey has fought long + hard for the right to have sports gambling in their land-based casinos, they've been unsuccessful and may never actually have regulated bookmaking until laws like PASPA are repealed; the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act is the federal sports betting law that only allows Nevada, Delaware, Oregon, and Montana to regulate bookmaking. As of 2013, New Jersey is still fighting the rulings of the U.S. Federal Courts that says their self-approved betting laws that provide for bookmaking are illegal.

Knowing all that, it is safe to assume that online sports betting was not included in the recent Internet gaming push. But, there is still good news because there are online bookmakers based outside of the United States that are willing to let sports fans in New Jersey place real money wagers on their favorite teams. These will be the only option for the foreseeable future, land-based or online. In fact, the only reasonable option would be to cross the border into Delaware, but even then, bettors will not be able to do much because sports gambling laws there restrict most wagers to parlays.

Most Trusted Sports Gambling Site That Accepts NJ Wagers

Checking in again on our list of the best gaming sites that are open to players in New Jersey is Bovada's online sportsbook which continually ranks the best of those tested on an annual basis. With land-based sports betting laws being so tough, many of the big European bookmaking websites choose not to allow NJ residents or anyone from the U.S. Luckily, Bovada is one of those sites that is backed by a multi-million dollar corporation that operates + backs several gambling entities including names like Bodog which is the brand name replaced by Bovada in 2011.

What does Bovada have to wager on?

As one of the leaders in this segment of the industry, Bovada is equipped with everything the most rabid sports fan could imagine. The only place Bovada falls short is in amateur sports where they stop at the collegiate level for football, basketball, baseball and even hockey. Do not worry though because Bovada is a leader when it comes to betting NFL games online including parlays, props and even with live NFL gambling that allows users to watch + wager on games simultaneously. Additionally, Bovada provides a wonderful mobile website which allows those with popular smartphones to do everything from registering for the first time + funding betting accounts to placing a big wager on the day/night's games.

How Online Gambling Became Legal In New Jersey

New Jersey is a state that has a proud tradition of gaming which goes much further back than the first regulated brick-and-mortar casino opened in Atlantic City back in 1978. Once dubbed the ‘gaming capital of the East', New Jersey experienced a large dip in gaming revenues as the economy tanked, casinos aged and nicer, newer options became available in neighboring states which ultimately led to the legalization of the online portion of the industry.

It all got started back in January of 2011 when Raymond Lesniak sponsored a bill that would legalize gambling on the Internet for New Jersey residents that were over the age of 21. The bill in its initial form was met with opposition and was initially vetoed by Governor Chris Christie though Christie remained opened to the idea provided that necessary changes were made to be included by the law.

The main concern for Governor Christie was the potential for any business to advertise and give customers the ability to place a wager online. In other words, more regulation was needed within the legislation. This was met in a redraft of the bill, which stated that New Jersey based casinos hosting regulated gambling websites would be able to advertise Internet gaming, as where other businesses would not be not be able to allow the use of a device to facilitate online gambling so that only those casinos based in Atlantic City would be capable of benefiting.

With the changes in place, Christie signed the revised legislation on February 26th, 2013 which allows for a 10-year trial period of legal Internet gaming in the State of New Jersey that officially launched 9 months later on November 26th, 2013 after time to establish regulations, allow the AC casinos to develop software or partner with providers of established casino software, and then test those systems that are needed to mantain fairness across the board.
